Download the free Workstation, not the 30-day demo of the paid version. ![]() This works perfectly, but (1) you have to load and run the VM for every scanning session (or have it running permanently), and (2) if thereĪre problems using VMware Workstation some learning would be required (I've used it for many years and it's fine, but I know from experience that you can spend a lot of time with an unfamiliar system finding out how to do things that turn out to be really Virtual machine (VM) - you run WinXP, or 7, or Linux, or whatever, on a physical machine running Win10. VMware Workstation and install an older version of Windows (I use WinXP/32) into a Vuescan has very good photo processing, but it doesn't have all the document scanning functionality that my Xerox scanner has.Ī workaround that supports the scanner's existing software (and is also free) is to download the free version of Vuescan (US$40 or $80, download free to test, but watermarks scans), which has its own drivers for most scanners. I had the same problem, but with a different, also old, scanner: TWAIN support was discontinued in Win10/64 the last time I looked, pre-Anniversary, but I doubt matters have changed.
